About

The Yoga for Charity Network came together as a group of Yoga Teacher Trainees at Greenhouse Holistic in Brooklyn, New York, realized they shared a common interest: making yoga more available and accessible to people, and using their skills for the common good. With so many people in need, the yoga community has certainly taken part in organizing events to benefit others. In response to growing financial and energetic needs, the Yoga for Charity Network is committed to serving this purpose over longer periods of time.

We strongly feel that yoga should be accessible to all people, and that, regardless of income, all people want to contribute in a meaningful way. All classes will be donation based only. We welcome all to our classes, whether or not a financial contribution can be made.

Each month, a different charity will be chosen, and the proceeds of the classes will be donated to that charity. Classes in July 2010 benefit the New York Restoration Project, a group dedicated to creating and restoring parks and community gardens in New York City.
